U.S.S.
Arizona
The
Arizona sunk only minutes after it had been hit by Japanese war
planes. More than 1,100 of its crew died while still onboard the
battleship.
Robert
Verbeten witnessed the attack while working as a radio man at Hickam
Field. Verbeten believed the sinking of the Arizona disabled communication
lines and blocked outgoing messages about the attack.
