Join our volunteer team at the The History Museum At the Castle & Charles A. Grignon Mansion.

You are welcome to join our OCHS Volunteer Team if you are…

  • Age 13 (finished 8th grade) or older
  • Willing to help weekly, monthly, or yearly for special events
  • Are willing to learn!

Volunteer Opportunities

Guides and Docents

Become an expert historical guide and share knowledge about local history with school and adult groups at the History Museum At the Castle or the Charles A. Grignon Mansion. Guides needed year-round.

School Days Volunteer

Share your talents interacting with elementary school children through demonstrations and activities that teach about Wisconsin in the 19th century. School Days activities take place on the beautiful grounds of Grignon Mansion. School Days are held in the fall and spring.

Visitor Services

Greet and orient visitors, collect admissions, and make sales in the museum and mansion gift shops.

Office and Special Event Staff

Enter data, file, help with mailings, serve food, check coats, meet and greet!

The Volunteer Coordinator will work with you to match your interests and talents. OCHS provides complete training—no experience necessary!
