Freedom of speech and expression - everywhere in the world. Freedom of every person to worship God in his own way - everywhere in the world. Freedom from want - everywhere in the world. Freedom from fear - everywhere in the world.

President Roosevelt announced these "Four Freedoms" during his State of the Union Address, January 6, 1941. The President hoped his speech would encourage Americans to support a war against the Axis Powers.
