Call to Duty: Outagamie County in World War II

More About Buelah Mancl

Mancl volunteered for the Army Nurses Corps. She left Appleton for basic training at Camp Bowie, Texas, in 1943. She had already earned a nursing certificate from St. Mary School of Nursing in Milwaukee earlier in the year. She joined the Army because she wanted to see the world and use her nursing skills.
